Heather Spurlock Kennealy Ms. Kennealy focuses her practice in the fields of environmental law and civil litigation. Prior to joining McRoberts & Roberts, she was an associate with the Law Offices of Matt Pawa in Newton, Massachusetts concentrating on global warming litigation and with Law Offices of F. Bryan Brice where she specialized in the fields of environmental and toxic tort litigation. Ms. Kennealy has represented commercial and residential clients with hazardous waste contamination in both state and federal courts while assisting with state trust fund matters before various regulatory agencies and judicial districts. She further has experience with Brownfield redevelopment and permitting matters, wetland conservation easements, property devaluation and tax value disputes. Since coming to Massachusetts, she has continued her practice in these areas focusing on the clean-up and redevelopment of properties affected by hazardous waste and toxic tort litigation. Ms. Kennealy has spoken for Lorman Educational Services regarding federal and state wetland regulation and enforcement and is the co-author of Introduction to Environmental Law: Summary of Federal and State Environmental Laws, published by the NC Bar Association as part of their October 2003 Continuing Legal Education Series. Ms. Kennealy received her J.D. and Masters of Studies in Environmental Law from Vermont Law School in 2002 and her B.S. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1998. In 2002, prior to graduation, Ms. Kennealy clerked for Justice James Morse at the Vermont Supreme Court. She is a member of the American Bar Association and its respective environmental section. Ms. Kennealy is admitted to practice law by the State of North Carolina and the Federal Eastern District of North Carolina. Ms. Kennealy is currently awaiting admission into Commonwealth of Massachusetts. |
