Obtaining Coverage For Cleanup of Residential Oil Spills

Homeowners insurance providers typically deny claims for remediation of residential oil spills under conventional “pollution exclusion” clauses. This article discusses recent successes by the firm and others in obtaining coverage under the third party coverage provisions of such policies and overcoming standard “owned property exclusions of such coverage.”
